Scenes from the South: The Garden

June 22, 2017 by Ellen 8 Comments

Whew! This has been a very busy month! I hope you have enjoyed all the pictures I’ve posted. It has really helped me out – to be able to post favorite pictures, rather than strain my brain with blog posts during this busy season.

This week will be a few pictures from the garden. Enjoy!

This is the flower of a banana plant. I thought it was fascinating! You can see the bananas behind it. I did taste one – it was horrible.

John captured this shot while we were in Natchez. The bee was really intent on getting some sweetness out of this yellow flower!

This is another of John’s pictures with the new camera. The sun was shining behind the leaf of this banana plant. I found it to be breath taking!

“They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…” Genesis 3:8a NASB

This is a beautiful classic limo! I would love to take a ride in this!

Cars and trucks came to Rip Van Winkle Gardens:

I’m not a Ford person, but this old red one was nice:

Our Mayor, Freddie Decourt, was Grand Marshall of the  parade on Saturday. The old fire truck was icing on the cake!

I hope you have enjoyed these beauties!

It was teeny, tiny little oak trees! Squirrels had been working hard, burying food for later. The rains had soaked and softened … Read More...
