You Are Never Alone!

April 14, 2016 by Ellen 12 Comments

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seemed to go right? And you felt all alone? And like everyone was against you?

Recently, I had that kind of day. I was working myself into quite the pity party about it, too. You know how it is: feeling sorry for yourself, because NO ONE CARES, right? During this particular party, I was driving along a wooded, private road, with hot tears overflowing.

“Nobody understands, nobody cares! I’m all by myself!” I cried as the car rolled along.

And then I saw it, right in front of me:

A leaf suspended in mid-air by a cobweb.

[tweetthis display_mode=”box”]In that instant, I realized Jesus was holding me up.[/tweetthis]

He always is with me, in good times and in bad. Even (and especially) when I can’t see Him. Even when I don’t know He’s there.

These scriptures flooded over me:

Never will I leave you…Hebrews 13:5b

I will not leave you as orphans…John 14:18

I am crucified with Christ…Christ lives in me…Galatians 2:20

Don’t be afraid, because I’m with you; don’t be anxious, because I am your God. I keep on strengthening you; I’m truly helping you. I’m surely upholding you with my victorious right hand…Isaiah 41:10

And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age…Matthew 28:20

Take a moment now to hide these beautiful truths in your heart. When you are feeling lost and alone, like no one is for you, bring these words to mind and praise God the He cares for you.

Father thank You, for being a caring and personal God. Thank You for holding us in the palm of Your hand, even when we can’t feel you, even when we can’t see You. You are with us. Because these promises of Yours, we know that You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you! In the sweet and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Grace be with you,

    Ellen,

Your post reminded me how much I “take for granted” my life verse which is Deuteronomy 31:8. “The Lord goes before you and is with you. He will never leave you or forsake you…”

I think I always equated that part to fiery trials or when I am fearful, but it never occurred to me to apply it to those times that I am “having a pity party”, feeling rejected and alone.

    Wonderful insight! Thanks for sharing!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the post, Karen! What a wonderful life verse you have! And yes, He was there holding me up, even in my pitiful pity party. What a beautiful reminder it was that Jesus is always with me.

Thank you for the spiritual connection to that uncanny picture. I love how God plops things in our laps when we least expect it. 🙂

Welcome!

Torrential rains had been pelting us for weeks. With the rains came weeds growing tall in the flower beds. But I noticed other new growth, too. It wasn’t colorful flowers. It was teeny, tiny little oak trees! Squirrels had been working hard, burying food for later. The rains had soaked and softened … Read More...
