Spring is Springing – Time for Some Whimsy!

March 3, 2016 by Ellen 16 Comments

Spring is sprinting down here is south Louisiana. Along with that comes a thick layer of bright yellow pollen – and allergy season! I’m a little under the weather this week. What better time to share pictures of this beautiful, wonderful (cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze) time of year! Enjoy!

The azaleas are beginning to bloom. We should see beautiful spots of color until the end of March. The pinks are my favorite.

The birds are coming out of hiding. Songbirds are singing, and egrets are looking for food. This one posed beautifully for me. I love his bright yellow “shoes”!

The turtles are also coming up for air, sunning on logs. These three reminded me of the scripture from Ecclesiastes 4:12
“And though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Until next week, grace be with you,

Gorgeous photos. The pollen is thick were I am, especially where I work. Our parking lot was covered with it last week and so was my car. Praying you have a blessed week.

Springtime is a breath of fresh air (well, mostly). I feel for you with your allergies. Mine have been horrible, too. But with spring coming so early this year, we saw our beloved Texas bluebonnets along the highway. They usually come out the end of March, first of April. But, oh, how they make me smile. I love the fresh start spring brings. Thanks for sharing, Ellen. Hope you feel better soon.

I imagine the bluebonnets were just beautiful! I would love to see them some day! Turns out my allergies were the flu! OOPS! But I am recovering nicely. Thanks for stopping in Sabra!

Ellen, such lovely photos you take! I bet it is starting to bloom down there as I’m already noticing a little bit of that happening here in the Northeast. Isn’t it wonderful how our Father created seasons? So much to be thankful for in each one.

Thank you Crystal! Yes, spring is in full bloom down here. It is beautiful! And warm. I’ll bet you are still having some cooler weather in the Northeast. Thanks for visiting today!

Spring is springing and allergies are blooming. So true, Ellen. : ) On a walk in the woods on my scrapbook retreat, I stopped to notice a purple vine of flowers poking out of the barren trees … a promise of spring, a reason to hope. Sweet blessings to you, friend. : )

Thank you my friend! I am better, after a bout with flu, but truth be told, it gave me some much needed rest!

Welcome!

Torrential rains had been pelting us for weeks. With the rains came weeds growing tall in the flower beds. But I noticed other new growth, too. It wasn’t colorful flowers. It was teeny, tiny little oak trees! Squirrels had been working hard, burying food for later. The rains had soaked and softened … Read More...
