From Homesick to Home

July 27, 2014 by Ellen 6 Comments

Tomorrow – Monday, July 28 – will mark the third anniversary of my Mom’s death. I have been through some hard times in my life, but by far the hardest was losing Mama. Her death rocked my world, and ultimately, changed the way I think about “my world.”

Psalm 119:28, 50
My soul weeps because of grief;
 Strengthen me according to Your word.
This is my comfort in my affliction,
 That Your word has revived me.

During my grieving, God’s word strengthened, comforted and revived me. I leaned into the Lord, and He taught me that not only does life go on, but it goes on with a purpose – His purpose!

I hope you’ll join me tomorrow and the next few weeks, as I share with you the insights God gave me while I learned to live in my new normal.

In Memory…

Ann Eason

    There is no other love on earth like your mother’s. So thankful we have God’s love and Holy Spirit to comfort us.

    Praying God’s comfort on you this week, Ellen. My mom is still with me, but I lost my dad two years ago. Our memories are so precious, but they are so dearly missed, aren’t they? Blessings to you, sweet sister.

      Thank you sweet Sabra! It is so awesome how God DOES work all things for the good of those who love Him! I would not be writing this blog today, if not for my Mom’s death, and my grief and questions afterward! He is faithful!

Welcome!

Torrential rains had been pelting us for weeks. With the rains came weeds growing tall in the flower beds. But I noticed other new growth, too. It wasn’t colorful flowers. It was teeny, tiny little oak trees! Squirrels had been working hard, burying food for later. The rains had soaked and softened … Read More...
