We’ll share our stories: our faith, our fears, the things we’re trying to overcome (I’m a recovering people pleaser and scaredy-cat, how about you?). What? You say don’t have a story to tell?
You may think you’re just an ordinary person living an ordinary life. But you’re not. You are precious in the eyes of God. He knew you before He formed you in your mother’s womb. He rejoices over you with singing!
How do I know this? After all, I’m just an ordinary wife and grandmother. I do ordinary things like go to work, grocery shop, laundry and work in the yard. Then I do it all again the next day. I’m an accountant by day, and writer by night, penning my stories from the Bayou Country of south Louisiana. But I have a passion for God’s word and sharing what I find there.
And here is one truth I found: Now the leaders were surprised and confused. They looked at Peter and John and realized they were typical peasants—uneducated, utterly ordinary fellows—with extraordinary confidence. The leaders recognized them as companions of Jesus. Acts 4:13
God loves to display His glory in ordinary people like you and me. He delights in bringing His presence into our ordinary lives.
Maybe, like me, you’ve been scared to take that next leap of faith. Or maybe (like me, again!), you’ve become comfortable and don’t want to upset the status quo. God sent His Son Jesus to enable us to face our fears and step out of our comfort zones in great faith. I mean, really! Who would’ve ever thought this scaredy cat would be writing a blog on the World Wide Web?!?
Ordinary? Not with Jesus!
I hope you’ll drop by each week for a visit. I want encourage you to walk in extraordinary faith, by walking: In His Word, in Worship, in Wisdom and with a bit of Whimsy!
My prayer is that YOUR ordinary, like mine, will be made extraordinary with Jesus.
